Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, managing patient comfort, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques. Collect vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care and clinical assessments. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, answering questions about procedures, and guiding patients through their treatment plans. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient medical documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and the operation of dental equipment including 3D scanners. Expertise in infection control practices, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to manage patient flow smoothly as a competent dental receptionist when needed. Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry and general healthcare to support accurate communication within the team. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management to ensure safety for patients and staff alike. $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 30.0 per week
