Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment, and ensure the dental office runs efficiently.Duties:
- Prepare patients for dental procedures by welcoming, comforting, and seating them
- Assist the dentist by handing them instruments and materials
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Make impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare
- Maintain accurate patient records
Qualifications:
- Certificate or Associate degree in Dental Assisting
- X-ray certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation
- Experience in infection control and aseptic technique
- Knowledge of medical coding systems
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Previous experience in dental assisting
- Understanding of dental procedures and terminology
