Responsibilities Assist the oral surgeon during all types of surgery Welcome patients in the oral surgery office Prepare patients for treatment ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed during surgery Sterilize instruments according to regulation Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide post-operative care instructions Keep the operatories clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records Skills Experience as dental assistant with experience assisting in dental extractions, wisdom teeth extractions, implants, sinus lifts, bone grafting , biopsies, i v sedation etc-. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Ability to take dental X- rays. X ray certification is a plus. Understanding of health & safety regulations Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is a plus Additional certification or training is an asset:
