Pediatric Dental Assistant - Full-Time We are an established, solo-doctor pediatric dental practice looking for an experienced pediatric dental assistant who is especially comfortable and confident assisting with restorative procedures . Our ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment, and can anticipate the doctor's needs while providing compassionate care to our young patients.

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday | 8:45 AM - 5:45 PM 32-35 hours per week | No weekends | Closed Wednesdays Our ideal candidate is a caring and dependable dental assistant who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, is detail-oriented and organized, and enjoys creating a positive experience for our young patients and their families. Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance during restorative and surgical pediatric dental procedures Assist the doctor with fillings, stainless steel crowns, pulpotomies, extractions, space maintainers, and other restorative procedures Prepare and set up instruments, materials, and equipment for restorative procedures Assist with rubber dam isolation, suction, retraction, and moisture control Take and process dental X-rays as needed for diagnosis and treatment Assist with nitrous oxide and sedation appointments as directed and within applicable regulations Comfort and support pediatric patients before, during, and after treatment Provide age-appropriate post-operative and oral hygiene instructions to parents/guardians Properly sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection-control protocols Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked operatories Maintain accurate digital patient records and clinical documentation Assist with laboratory procedures and case preparation as needed Anticipate the doctor's needs during procedures and work efficiently as part of a team Help ensure restorative appointments stay on schedule while maintaining excellent patient care Skills & Qualifications Must LOVE working with children! At least 2 year of dental assisting experience required Pediatric restorative experience strongly preferred Comfortable assisting with restorative procedures and working with pediatric patients Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and restorative procedures Experience with stainless steel crowns, pulpotomies, fillings, extractions, and space maintainers is a plus Understanding of sterilization, infection control, OSHA, and health & safety regulations X-ray certification required! Ability to perform regulated expanded functions, including coronal polishing, as permitted by applicable regulations Dentrix Ascend experience is a plus but not required Strong computer and documentation skills Excellent communication skills with children, parents/guardians, and team members Organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment High school diploma required; dental assisting school graduate preferred If you are an experienced dental assistant who loves working with children and enjoys being part of a close-knit, positive team, we would love to hear from you!
