Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic and patient-focused pediatric dental team as a Pediatric Dental Assistant . We are committed to making every child's visit a comfortable, educational, and positive experience. In this vital role, you will work closely with our pediatric dentist to deliver exceptional, high-quality care to our young patients and their families. Your primary mission will be to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment while providing expert assistance during procedures and upholding the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Key Responsibilities Clinical Assistance:
Expertly assist the dentist during a full range of examinations and procedures, including general dentistry, restorative work, and minor surgery.Preventive Care:
Perform child prophylaxis and apply dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay.Sterilization & Safety:
Prepare and meticulously sterilize dental instruments and equipment, strictly adhering to OSHA and infection control protocols.Imaging:
Take and process dental X-rays (radiographs), ensuring accurate imaging and proper documentation.Patient Advocacy:
Provide outstanding patient care by ensuring children and their families are comfortable and informed , clearly explaining procedures in an age-appropriate manner.Education:
Effectively educate patients and guardians on proper oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and post-treatment care instructions.Administrative Support:
Maintain meticulous patient records (including medical history and vital signs) in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations . Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and light front-desk duties as needed.Office Management:
Ensure the clinical areas and overall dental office are clean, organized, sterile, and welcoming for all patients and guests.Qualifications Required Experience:
Proven, previous experience as a Dental Assistant.Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.Certification:
Current X-Ray certification (Radiology certification).Compliance:
Strong working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and general infection control standards. Exceptional communication skills with a genuinely friendly, warm, and patient demeanor to effectively interact with children and their families. Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Team-Oriented work ethic with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.Preferred Certification:
Dental Assistant certification or relevant formal dental assisting education.Pediatric Knowledge:
Familiarity with terminology, procedures, and systems specific to pediatric dentistry.Safety:
Current certification in CPR or First Aid (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).Software:
