Job Description
Overview We are a small, private dental practice located in the heart of downtown Edmonds, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Registered Dental Assistant. This role involves supporting the dentist with patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental assisting, including patient management, sterilization procedures, and dental x-ray techniques. Responsibilities Prepare patients for dental procedures by taking initial x-rays, including new patient x-rays before hygiene appointments. Assist the dentist during various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Perform dental sterilization procedures to maintain infection prevention standards and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized. Operate dental equipment accurately and safely, including x-ray machines and other clinical tools. Manage patient care by providing excellent customer service, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions or concerns. Utilize patient management software (Dentrix) to schedule appointments, update records, and facilitate smooth clinic operations. Assist with laundry and sterilization of dental instruments to maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. Support infection prevention management by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a sterile workspace. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting for at least 1 year. Certification or licensing as a Registered Dental Assistant is required. Proficiency in dental x-ray procedures and operation of dental equipment. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and infection control standards. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently while maintaining patient comfort. Experience with patient management software is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in sterilization, laundry, and equipment maintenance.
