In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming, safe, and effective dental environment for all patients. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including dental x-ray imaging and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Perform vital signs assessment and document medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans while maintaining excellent patient management software records. Support dental sterilization procedures and instrument processing to uphold the highest standards of infection control and dental equipment maintenance. Assist with dental instrument processing, dental sterilization procedures, and maintaining clinical cleanliness in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team through four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize clinical workflow and patient comfort. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and familiarity with dental equipment is essential for effective communication and procedure support. Hands-on experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, dental x-ray imaging, oral surgery support, endodontics procedures, prosthodontics assistance, and use of patient management software is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention is critical to ensure safety for patients and staff. Ability to accurately manage medical records while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies is required for compliance with privacy standards.
