Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. LWTech offers 12 bachelor's degrees , 42 associate degrees , and 70 professional certificates in 41 areas of study , including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. LWTech serves the Eastside and is located within the city of Kirkland, which is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Washington. All didactic courses will be online and asynchronous. A Procedural Showcase will be held every Friday with other members of the dental team in our own on-campus clinic. Community externships will be prearranged. View information on the Dental Assistant Program here. This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future part-time faculty vacancies. The college hires part-time faculty on a quarter by quarter basis, dependent on enrollment. Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination Teach productive and constructive study skills to students Develop classroom and lab procedures in conformance with identified policies and procedures Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (currently Canvas)QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree Washington RDA and CPR for the Healthcare Provider, and annual Bloodborne pathogens training required 5 years related work experience College teaching experience preferred Industry certifications preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations Due to the diversity of the college population, we encourage applicants who are multilingualSUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Compensation Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B. Step 1 ranges from $738.38- $2,335.13 Step 2 ranges from $819.15
