Duties Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorative work, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics with precision and confidence. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while adhering to infection prevention management protocols. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, managing patient comfort, and collecting vital signs to support clinical assessments. Follow strict clinical confidentiality policies while handling medical documentation and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and aseptic technique. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Experience with dental x-ray procedures and the use of digital imaging tools like 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient medical documentation and record keeping. Ability to perform dental instrument processing and sterilization in accordance with infection control guidelines. Excellent patient management skills with a focus on providing compassionate care to diverse populations including pediatrics. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to maintain a safe clinical environment at all times.
