#063-CRT-03-26 Dental Assistant Teacher 1.0 FTE, Continuing Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Center Beginning the 2026-2027 School Year
DESCRIPTION
This full-time dental assisting instructor position prepares high school students for entry-level employment or further education in dental-related careers. The instructor manages two 2.5-hour sections daily, providing hands-on clinical instruction, coordinating internships, and implementing curriculum aligned with state and industry standards. Responsibilities include supervising students, fostering leadership development, maintaining advisory committee engagement, and ensuring a safe, positive learning environment. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Washington State CTE certificate in dental assisting and have industry experience. The role emphasizes collaboration, effective instruction, equity, and student success within a professional clinical setting. Willing and able to complete a Career and Technology Education Competency based two-year program required to become vocationally certified. This instructor would need to plan, implement and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with building, district, and state academic and CTE standards. The candidate should have demonstrated skills in collaboration, organization, and leadership. Strong communication and technical skills are required and experience working with high school-age students is preferred. The ability to work as a team member is a must. Must have demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, and community members. Demonstrated ability to organize and complete detailed paperwork to maintain DSHS, DOH, State, and local program standards and requirements is critical.
