Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Perform infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment
  • Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient records using dental software (e.g., Dentrix, eagle soft)
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a dental assistant training program or relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
  • Proficiency in using dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
  • Experience with digital imaging systems and CAD/CAM technology
  • Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Aseptic technique knowledge for infection control
