Job Description
•$2,000 Sign On Bonus for full-time (1.0 FTE). Part time are also eligible for a prorated bonus based on FTE.•We are seeking a full-time Outreach Dental Assistant to join our team! This position is based out of our Turtle Lake clinic location but will be assisting our Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH) with school based, daycare, and WIC offices dental care . The Dental Assistants main purpose is to provide appropriate patient care while working hand in hand with the RDH. The Dental Assistant will do this by helping to address the needs of the patient in order to be successful with overall health and wellness. Salary begins at $20.45 + per hour depending on experience. Outreach Dental Assistant duties include but are not limited to: Receive and prepare patient for treatment. Charts conditions of suspected decay and disease for treatment by hygienist and referral to a dentist in DentalSeal. Sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures. Complete necessary forms to be sent home with the child informing guardian of treatment received. Register patient in DentalSeal and EDR, verify insurance, demographics and guarantor. Maintenance of equipment, replenish supplies and load and unload as needed for transportation and setup at the school. Knowledge of Scope of Practice per Wisconsin Dental Assistant statutes. Demonstrate Knowledge of ethics, jurisprudence and patient confidentiality. Demonstrate understanding of the OSHA Hazard Communication standard. Demonstrate understanding of the OSHA Blood borne Pathogens standard. Demonstrate understanding of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention guidelines Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures in compliance with policy and procedures. Understand insurance guidelines for allowable services and treatment frequency. Apply effective communication techniques with a variety of patients.
