Duties Assist orthodontists during various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines, and ensuring all tools meet infection prevention management standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and safety protocols. Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments using patient management software like Dentrix or Epic, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories. Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices to promote optimal treatment outcomes. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Support general dentistry procedures when needed, including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other related specialties. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient patient data management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to orthodontics and general dentistry. Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection control practices. Experience with dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray units, and other clinical tools essential for orthodontic treatments. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency. Ability to accurately perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging procedures in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or patient care coordinator to ensure positive patient experiences from check-in to checkout. Pay:
$17.50 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
