Your expertise in dental procedures, patient communication, and infection control will help create a positive experience for every patient. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use according to aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, dental terminology, and treatment notes. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions about procedures or dental terminology. Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team including the dental receptionist to optimize patient flow through four-handed dentistry techniques and efficient scheduling. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of infection control protocols. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry, anatomy knowledge relevant to oral structures, and proficiency in taking X-rays including digital imaging techniques. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and patient information. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures. Excellent communication skills to support the dental receptionist role when coordinating patient appointments or explaining treatment plans.
