Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced dental professionals in a fast-paced, friendly environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth patient flow, maintaining clinical excellence, and upholding the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management protocols Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging technology such as dental x-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring all medical documentation is complete, up-to-date, and compliant with clinical confidentiality policies Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient management and care planning Support patient management by greeting patients warmly, answering their questions about procedures, and assisting with appointment scheduling using patient management software Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following strict infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and dental equipment maintenance procedures Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding is a plus Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry including oral structures and general dentistry procedures Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are advantageous Join us to make a difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and clinical excellence.
