Job Description
Camden Family Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we are committed to providing high-quality, affordable dental care to the communities we serve. The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences while supporting our dentists in providing comprehensive oral healthcare.
The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, and passionate about patient care. This individual will assist with clinical procedures, prepare treatment rooms and help ensure efficient daily operations within our dental practice.
Key Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment before each patient appointment. Sterilize instruments and maintain infection prevention and OSHA compliance standards. Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital information, and treatment records accurately within the electronic health record. Take, process, and maintain dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations. Prepare dental materials including impressions, sealants, fluoride applications, and other clinical procedures as permitted by certification and state regulations. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and notify leadership of ordering needs. Ensure operatories are clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day. Support patient scheduling, appointment flow, and coordination with front office staff to maximize efficiency. Promote a positive, welcoming environment while providing exceptional customer service to patients of all ages. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all organizational policies and regulatory requirements. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent. Current CPR/BLS certification. Knowledge of dental terminology, infection prevention practices, and chairside assisting techniques. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail. Preferred Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or multi-provider dental practice. Experience using electronic dental records and digital radiography. Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent experience as permitted by state regulations. Current West Virginia Dental Assistant certification or registration, as applicable.
