Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a temporary Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the clinical team with precision and professionalism. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and adherence to safety protocols. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort. Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition advice tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Maintain accurate charts and electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Follow infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques, sterilization of equipment, and infection control management to ensure a safe environment for all. Requirements Valid Dental Hygiene license in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Knowledge in Dentrix dental software for documentation review and EHR management. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education and care. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management. Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
