This role would be Mondays 6:45 am-4pm and Fridays 6:45 am-1pm. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help foster a positive environment where patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their dental care journey. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards like HIPAA compliance. Manage dental equipment maintenance and sterilization processes to uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. Support patient care by monitoring vital signs, ensuring patient comfort, and providing compassionate assistance throughout visits. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless office operations, including documentation review and medical coding when necessary. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR). Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable for working with young patients in a friendly manner. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and supporting dentists during procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment. Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and medical record management. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and medical records documentation review. Qualifications Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with current state licensure Proficient in dental care, patient education, and maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA) Experience with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and dental terminology Strong patient assessment, chairside assistance, and general dentistry skills Knowledge of disinfection procedures and maintaining dental equipment Ability to manage patient records and provide high-quality patient interaction Four-handed dentistry or pediatric dentistry experience is a plus
