Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately using dental imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Conduct vital signs assessments such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to uphold healthcare infection control standards. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with proficiency in dental assisting and chairside assisting techniques. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient electronic health records management. Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control practices. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, demonstrating client communication skills. Knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
