Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist in an established private practice and play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and preventive care tailored to individual needs. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or Dentrix), documenting all procedures, assessments, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records. Support general dentistry procedures by assisting with dental equipment setup, sterilization, and maintenance. Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases, providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric patients' needs. Experience Proven experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology Demonstrated ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while adhering to safety standards. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental health needs. Hours Thursdays
