The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient education, assessment, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and documentation. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate aseptic techniques. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness; assist in medical coding for billing purposes. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state licensure. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and medical imaging accurately. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse patient populations, including pediatrics. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Experience with dental assisting tasks like chairside assisting and supporting dental procedures is a plus. Experience with digital scanners and intraoral cameras Experience with clear aligners process is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and EMR systems enhances efficiency in documentation review and billing processes.
