The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of dental hygiene practices. Prefer someone with at least 3 years of dental experience working as a dental hygienist. We are a general dental office and do not take HMO insurances. We schedule one patient every hour. Must be comfortable working on children, giving injections as needed for scaling/root planing procedures. As a key member of our dental practice, you will be responsible for providing preventive oral health services, educating patients on dental care, and supporting the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review. Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health. Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing treatment rooms and supporting the dentist during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental instruments. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry needs. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a clinical setting. Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety. Excellent client communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and reassurance. Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Give injections for scaling/root planing procedures as needed. Sharpen and maintain scalers.
