We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to improve overall dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and document patient responses during treatment, ensuring comfort and safety throughout procedures. Follow aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding when necessary. Support general dentistry procedures, including pediatric dentistry when required, with specialized care for young patients. Stay current with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control standards to provide high-quality care. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing with the state licensing board. Proficiency with Dentrix is highly desirable but not a must. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance.
