Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, cavitron, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding of maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Assist the dentist during examinations. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems, including Dentrix, to document patient information accurately and securely. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proficiency in dental software platforms such Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology to ensure precise communication and documentation. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment plans. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and healthcare infection prevention and control practices. Ability to perform patient care tasks confidently while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Experience in general dentistry settings or dental clinics that emphasizes teamwork, efficiency in chairside assisting, and adherence to infection control standards.
