Job Summary We are a small private practice in Durango looking for a part time Hygienist. Work days as of now would be Tuesday, Wednesday Afternoon, and Thursday, but we can add some flexibility. Starting hourly rate of $50 an hour. We have a really great and professional staff and are looking to add another exceptional team member. Duties Conduct thorough dental cleanings and periodontal assessments for patients. Review and document patient medical histories and current medications. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist in the development of individualized patient care plans based on assessments. Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards. Utilize knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices during procedures. Collaborate with dentists to provide optimal patient care in general dentistry settings. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising dentist or office manager. Requirements Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Strong knowledge of dental assisting practices and procedures. Familiarity with documentation review, medical records management, and medical coding is preferred. Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Proficient understanding of infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and education regarding oral health. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
