In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status. Educate patients on proper dental care techniques, oral hygiene practices, and preventive measures to maintain healthy smiles. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and develop dental x-rays (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with a focus on pediatric patients preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and EHR management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration. Commitment to HIPAA compliance management, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
