Duties Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments with precision and care. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits. Operate dental equipment such as ultrasonic scalers, dental x-ray machines, and intraoral cameras while maintaining proper aseptic techniques. Assist with chairside procedures by providing support during examinations and treatments in a four-handed dentistry setup. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment details accurately and review medical records for completeness. Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality standards to protect patient information. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology essential for accurate communication and documentation. Experience with dental x-ray procedures (X-ray) and medical imaging techniques necessary for comprehensive patient assessment. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient documentation review and management of medical records. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster trustful relationships. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to comfortably treat pediatric patients in a friendly manner. Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry settings while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
