Scaling and Root Planning. Giving local anesthesia is a plus but no required Examining patients for signs of oral diseases, taking X-rays when needed, measuring periodontal pockets and recording patients' oral health findings, applying preventive treatments, including fluoride, educating patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and other oral hygiene practices, reviewing patients' medical histories, documenting treatment provided and maintaining accurate patient records, supporting patients comfort and helping reduce anxiety. If there is a no show, help out the dental assistants and front desk with filing charts away, setting up trays and anything else allowing for a smooth day. You have the option to clock out and just chill till the next patient shows up.
