Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and current health status in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health habits Assist the dentist during various procedures with chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing dental equipment Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring documentation review and compliance with HIPAA standards Follow infection prevention protocols through aseptic technique and infection control measures to ensure patient safety and uphold healthcare standards Monitor and manage medical records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Support general dentistry procedures with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain a smooth workflow in pediatric dentistry settings when applicable Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice in a clinical setting Proven experience working in dental offices or clinics, preferably with pediatric dentistry exposure Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for electronic health records management Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical imaging techniques, and dental x-ray procedures Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment with professionalism and compassion Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care practices Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management to maintain patient confidentiality at all times Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques when necessary Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and adhering to OSHA regulations Join our team today if you're eager to deliver exceptional dental care while advancing your professional skills in a supportive environment!
