Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying topical anesthetics, and preparing treatment areas. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to maintain a safe environment. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including medical coding and documentation review. Support general dentistry and pediatric dentistry services by providing specialized care for children and managing pediatric-specific needs within the practice. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and confidentiality. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient documentation and record management. Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and workflow. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging procedures, and patient assessment with accuracy and professionalism.
