Job Description

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dental team at Beautiful Smiles by Design Dentistry, Dalton location. The RDH will provide preventive dental care, educate patients on proper oral hygiene, assist in maintaining patients' periodontal health, and support the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and screenings. Review patients' medical and dental histories and update records as necessary. Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling, and root planing within the scope of practice. Take and process dental radiographs. Assess and document periodontal conditions, including pocket depths, bleeding, plaque, and other clinical findings. Apply preventive treatments, including fluoride and sealants. Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and other oral hygiene practices. Assist the dentist with examinations and treatment planning as needed. Accurately document all clinical findings, treatment provided, and patient education in the patient record. Maintain strict compliance with infection control, sterilization, OSHA, HIPAA, and office policies and procedures. Ensure treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and prepared for patient care. Maintain an organized and efficient clinical schedule while providing excellent patient care. Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, dentists, assistants, and administrative staff. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional work environment. Assist with other clinical duties within the scope of the position as assigned. Qualifications Current and valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Valid dental hygiene credentials and certifications required by state law. Experience with dental software and electronic patient records preferred. Knowledge of current infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical safety standards. Excellent communication and patient education skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a dental team. Professional, dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor. Work Environment The Registered Dental Hygienist works in a fast-paced dental office environment and is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, patient confidentiality, infection control, and quality of care. Compensation Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and the practice's compensation structure. Additional benefits may be available based on employment status and eligibility.
