Job Overview Harlan Dental is looking for a friendly, dependable, and patient focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. We are a locally owned, single-doctor practice that values building long-term relationships with our patients and providing throughtful, high-quality care. Our team works together to create an enviroment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and well cared for. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, and periodontal therapy. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) and complete periodontal charting. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health. Identify areas of concern and communicating findings with the dentist Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper documentation. Manage infection prevention protocols by sterilizing dental equipment, practicing aseptic techniques, and adhering to infection control standards. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as needed, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Operate dental equipment safely and efficiently while staying current with advancements in dental technology and terminology. Support patient care by managing appointment schedules, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out. Working closely with our dentist, hygienists, assistants and front office team to provide an excellent patient experience.

A licesnced Registered Dental Hygienist in Iowa, or eligible for Iowa licensure Compassionate and comfortable working with patients of all ages Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail Experience performing dental x-rays (X-ray) and utilizing medical imaging tools confidently. $40.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 24.0 per week
