Glen Carbon Family Dentistry is seeking a compassionate Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality preventive and periodontal care in our family-focused practice. In this role, you will perform thorough cleanings, periodontal assessments, radiographs, and patient education for patients of all ages. You'll collaborate closely with our dentists and team to support comprehensive treatment plans while maintaining strict infection control standards. Responsibilities Provide preventive dental care including cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and fluoride treatments Take and interpret dental radiographs and intraoral images following safety protocols Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments and document findings in patient records Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment plans Assist the dentist during exams and procedures as needed Review medical histories and update patient records accurately in the practice management system Apply sealants, desensitizing agents, and other indicated preventive treatments Follow infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards to maintain a safe environment Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients of all ages to build strong relationships Collaborate with the dental team to support efficient, patient-centered care and scheduling Required Skills Dental prophylaxis and scaling Periodontal charting and maintenance Dental radiography (digital X-rays) Local anesthesia and nitrous monitoring (as permitted by state) Infection control and sterilization Electronic dental records and charting Patient oral health education Sealant and fluoride application Medical history review and risk assessment Communication with patients of all ages
