Essential Job Duties:
Reviews patient health history and informs the dentist of any changes affecting treatment. Prepares treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures. Assists the dentist during examinations and dental procedures. Exposes, develops, and mounts dental radiographs. Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains dental instruments and equipment. Follows infection control and safety guidelines. Maintains accurate patient charts and treatment records. Demonstrates knowledge of various consents, including oral surgery, papoose, and endodontic procedures. Provides patient education and support regarding oral hygiene and treatment procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience/Education:
Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Must meet applicable Iowa Dental Board requirements for registration as a Dental Assistant. Current CPR certification required.
