Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup, on Pediatric and Adult Patients Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Conduct patient assessments by measuring vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe treatment planning. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience with dental software platforms, Dentrix Ascend preferred but we can train.. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health. Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is a plus! Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, and client communication to foster trust and understanding. Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging, and electronic health record (EHR) management. Knowledge of infection control practices, healthcare infection prevention standards, and HIPAA compliance management. Ability to work efficiently in general dentistry or specialized pediatric dentistry settings while maintaining attention to detail.
