Take Digital radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Assess patients' medical history, vital signs, and overall health status to inform appropriate treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations for efficiency and comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation review, medical coding, and updating electronic health records (EHR) system (Dexis & Dentrix). Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards like HIPAA compliance. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Support the dental team by preparing instruments and sterilizing equipment in accordance with infection prevention management guidelines. Stay current with dental terminology, medical terminology, and advancements in pediatric dentistry to provide informed patient care. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Local Anesthesia Certification preferred, but not required. Strong knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental x-ray safety protocols, and infection control standards. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental care procedures and understanding of medical records management. Commitment to HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with medical imaging, vital signs measurement, medical coding, and documentation review is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping.
