Job Overview:
The Barren River District Health Department serves the residents and visitors of Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. BRDHD staff are committed to providing essential public health services in the community. Our mission is to serve our community with a commitment to excellence in quality service by protecting and improving the environment and health of people through prevention, surveillance, education, and partnerships. The Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a PRN Public Health Dental Hygienist to serve patients in all 8 counties using mobile dental equipment and providing treatment under a dentist's order. Position would have a flexible work schedule and would work around school calendar.Responsibilities:
Provide primary preventive dental services to the populations identified by BRDHD, including dental cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment, and dental screenings in a mobile setting in Preschools/Headstarts and schools for kids ages Pre-K through 12th grade Maintain proper and accurate documentation in patient's medical records Responsible for setting up mobile dental equipment, sterilization of instruments, and the management of dental supplies Maintain CEU's required for licensure Other duties as assigned.Requirements:
Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of employment. An Associate's degree OR Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program. Must have at least two years of experience with a minimum of 3000 hours in the practice of dental hygiene in accordance withKRS 313.040
