A Dental Hygienist performs routine dental care, including cleaning teeth and examining patients for signs of oral diseases, and educates patients about good oral health practices. Assists dentists in more complex dental procedures. Works in dental offices under the supervision of dentists and other dental health specialists.

Responsibilities:
Collect and document medical and dental histories from patients. Evaluate overall oral health, examining for any signs & symptoms of disease Chart dental conditions based on dentist's observations and evaluations Follow through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Procedures may include Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling, Root Planning, Debridement, Application of Fluoride Treatment, etc. Sterilize dental instruments and tools Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care Take necessary radiographs as needed.
