Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments or sealants during dental visits Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards Support infection prevention management by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and following healthcare infection control protocols Collaborate with dentists and other team members in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings to deliver seamless patient care Review documentation for accuracy, medical coding, and billing purposes to ensure efficient administrative workflows Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, including vital signs assessment when necessary Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures Proven experience working in a dental office environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records (EHR) and documentation review Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, and medical records management Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and safety protocols Familiarity with HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques and chairside assisting skills Join us today to make a meaningful difference in our patients' lives through compassionate care and professional excellence!
