Job Summary Join our team as a Dental Hygienist, where you will play a vital role in delivering patient care and promoting optimal oral health. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to their individual needs. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Carestream SoftDent, documenting patient interactions, treatment plans, and medical records. Follow HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure secure handling of medical information. Manage infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to uphold healthcare standards. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless workflow and exceptional patient experiences. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is nice but we are willing to train and work with a new graduate. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems a plus Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation is essential for success in this role, but we will teach you what you need to know about our specific equipment Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization protocols.
