How you make a difference The Dental Hygienist provides dental care and promotes dental health by performing a variety of tasks underthe supervision of a licensed dentist. They assess patient needs, clean teeth, take and develop dentalx-rays,and educate patients on proper oral hygiene. They adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and protocolsrelated to dental hygiene and maintain accurate patient records. Key Responsibilities + Prepare treatment room and select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits. + Provide oral hygiene and postoperative instructions to patients and answer their questions. + Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, document dental hygieneservices and maintainconfidentiality of patient information. + Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhere to infection-control policies and protocols,and conserve dental resources. + Ensure proper functioning of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniques Qualifications & Requirements Education + Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygienist school Experience + Two (2) years' experience + Previous correctional/detention facility experience + Five (5) years' experience Licenses/Certifications + Unrestricted current Dental Hygiene license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc. + Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA + Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA This position is available only to those who reside in the United States.
