In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Assess patient health by recording vital signs, medical history, and current dental concerns to inform treatment planning. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and assisting during various dental treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times. Follow infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing infection control procedures in accordance with healthcare standards. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with familiarity using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Skilled in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, medical imaging, and dental x-ray techniques. Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and patient care documentation review. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique. Ability to perform patient assessment accurately while maintaining a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric dentistry or general patient needs.
