Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and current dental conditions. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital dental imaging equipment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, including documentation review, medical coding, and updating medical records. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental equipment, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention protocols. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care delivery in a busy clinical environment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience working in general dentistry settings. Proficiency with dental practice management software Dentrix is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
