Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as OpenDental, adhering to HIPAA compliance standards Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to ensure patient safety Skills Proficiency in dental software platforms like OpenDental for documentation and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and providing care tailored to children's needs Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and managing patient comfort during procedures Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging with precision and attention to detail Expertise in healthcare infection prevention, aseptic technique, and maintaining strict infection control standards Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education, empathy, and building trust Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), medical coding, and documentation review processes Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records Join our team to help create healthier smiles!
