Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, to maintain and improve patients' oral health. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced imaging equipment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their individual needs. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix) accurately by documenting treatment plans, medical records, and clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain infection prevention standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization of dental equipment, and adherence to healthcare infection control protocols. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including chairside assisting and supporting pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary. Skills Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored for children's unique needs. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster trust. Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization processes and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation review and medical coding compliance.
