Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take dental radiographs Conduct patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, medical history, and oral health status. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Expertise in infection control procedures aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations. Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is highly desirable.
