Qualifications:

Must be a licensed Dental Hygienist in the state of Minnesota. Must have a valid and current Dental Hygienist license. Associate degree or higher in dental hygiene from an accredited institution. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care procedures. Strong understanding of dental equipment operation, X-ray safety protocols, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs. Commitment to HIPAA compliance, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and safety protocols are followed. Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs and medical history to inform treatment plans. Complete debridement, prophylaxis, and nonsurgical periodontal therapy; place subgingival medicaments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Open Dental and ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Support infection prevention management by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards.
