Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a vibrant, patient-focused environment. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, and assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages. Your skills will help ensure each patient receives personalized attention while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe and effective treatment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide tailored advice to improve their dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures, to uphold safety standards. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and communication skills. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and proper medical records management.
