Responsibilities:

• Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Conduct oral cancer screenings
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
• Assist the dentist during procedures
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment

Qualifications:

• Valid Dental Hygiene license in [North Carolina]
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and medical coding
• Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients on oral health practices
• Attention to detail and ability to accurately document medical records
