In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to maintain healthy smiles. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting treatment procedures, patient responses, and medical history updates in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation review and billing purposes. Hands-on experience with dental office software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of infection control standards, anatomy, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe practice. Previous exposure to pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus. Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures, chairside assisting skills, and patient care best practices. Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment with professionalism and compassion.
